Unit 3: Watching the Detectives

Detective stories are very popular in American movies. James Bond is probably the most famous crime-solving movie character. This character has been in 22 movies, from 1962 until now. The next James Bond movie will come to theatres in 2011.



When I was a little girl (a long time ago!), the most popular detective movie was The Pink Panther. The Pink Panther movies were comedies, about a clumsy French detective, Inspector Clouseau (played by British actor Peter Sellers).



Charlie's Angels was a detective show famous for its sexy female detectives (played by Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Farrah Fawcett). This show was on TV in the 1970s.



In the 1990s, Canadian comedian Mike Myers created the character Austin Powers - a time-traveling British "ladies' man" who always tried to stop Dr. Evil (who was also played by Mike Myers). These movies are called "spoofs" because they make fun of the James Bond movies of the 1960s.




CSI is probably the most popular detective TV show nowadays. The show CSI is actually many different series that take place in different American cities and have different characters. The theme songs ("OST") for these shows all comes from British rock band "The Who" - most of these theme songs are older songs that were famous in the 1970s.

    South Korea feel that corruption is a criminal
    and Chinese detective film lots of action scenes and Western detective fellow shoot many gods. Are Korean detective movies at all like western-style detective movies is Have not seen it.

    I like detective movies. 00 is a big brother. The focus to what a detective on the case and thought about the tight nature of wits. Such as Western-style detective might not have seen the film.

    Detective stories in China is more about action and comedy. And there are almost between police and thief. We also made a detective stories of a drama. It's like secretly sale the junk, kill the man and so on. It's different of Western-style detective movies.
    I like detective stories very well. My favorite movie is "The Conan Doyles Colleclion".

    I like the movie memorios of murder a criminal.
    This movie is movie that form with Kyonggi
    Province great artist's chain murder who was actually.
    Song Kang-ho and a peremptory way criminal investigations have been conniving that it is the character of the 80s era.

    I like detective movie!
    detective movie or thriller movie has reversal.
    So, the attitude, keep trying to detect something makes detective ability grows.
    I recommend movie the seven days.

    I like detective movies.
    I favorite movie The Chaser and 7Days.
    The Chaser of the leading actor and a serial killer Hajeongwoo. Hajeongwoo is so cool and act well. 7Days is reversed. I like reverse.
    The detective movie I saw most recently is The Case of Itaewon Homicide. The Case of Itaewon Homicide is criticism about Court system's loopholes.
    The Chaser and The Case of Itaewon Homicide is thing which do with real story.

    Hello madam
    I like movies about detective.I think the most famous detective movie is called concealed in china.It was acted by famous film star of china.It is about two political partys fight for dominion.At the end the Communist Party defeated another Party.Of course the detective is very important in that fight

    I like movie. Action and detective movie.
    But most of movie is detective conan.
